The Youth

Here you can see some pictures of one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. It's the video from the song The Youth by MGMT (I've been talking about them in the last post). I would spent hours explaining you the importance of this video, but as the saying goes "a picture is worth a thousand words".

Ethnic

Today, I feel nostalgic. These photos remind me when I was studying in my old Fashion School. I was working on a cool project for Coolhunting subject so, I took some photos of the psychedelic music band MGMT. My teacher was shocked by these photos. What he found fascinating was the engravings (kinda ethnic, isn't it?) of Andrew VanWyngarden skin.

By the way, if you don't know so much about MGMT, don't worry. I consider them one of the coolest bands ever (and you know I love talking about music inspiration) so, you will see them in this blog soon again.

The spontaneous way

Some weeks ago I was carrying a piece of paper of different cool hairs photos in my handbag. Yet, suddenly, one day it rained a lot and my lovely handbag and I got wet. When I got home I opened it to see how my all stuff was. Almost everything was right but I saw the paper with the photos so wreck due to the rain. I opened it out and I could see how the colors of the pictures have been running (or fading, I don't know exactly which word would be better, sorry). Firstly, I though "Gosh, It can't be posible" but in a few seconds later, I got shocked.  The mix of colors, the whole composition,... were stunning.

Then, I realized that sometimes, being spontaneous is an important way that people don't attach importance. I didn't do anything and I was stonished about the result of the pictures. Some of the best artists of nowadays use the spontaneity to show what they want to transmit (but well, they want to make an appeal or just show their feelings I'm not trying to say that I'm an artist).
Down here, the cool wet pictures:

And be spontaneous.

Becoming a coolhunter

Today, I would like you to introduce a stylish person who inspires me a lot. His name is Yvan Rodic and he is the creator of the blog Facehunter. He started his blog as other people just to show what he liked, what he thought it was beautiful. Yet, as the time goes on, he has been realizing other qualities about the street people as the personality they show for instance. He just catches the moment taking photos of ordinary people who can be the inspiration for other people just for the way they got dressed.

One who doesn't know much about fashion world ( and, in this case, about coolhunters) they may do not know who is Yvan Rodic but they may do about Scott Schuman ( The Sartorialist ) as a famous coolhunter. Schuman has influenced on me so much as well. Even though, I've got to say that these last months Yvan Rodic has been getting almost all my atention for fashion. I've been making inquiries about him, reading interviews and watching reports about his job, etc. and I got astonished. So, that's why I wanted him to show up in this blog. Down here you can check some pictures from his blog out.

Here there are some of my favourites looks from Paris, New York, Milan and London Fashion Week. I haven't got any time to  upload before, so sorry for showing all them up so late.

I've always been really taken with London because almost all my favourite designers hit this catwalk. This time, in my opinion, Mulberry has been the stunniest show of the Fashion Week. I've seen in many shows some trends but Mulberry has almost got them all.

Let's see a trend that has really caught me. When I was studying in a Fashion School I had a teacher who told me that wearing a tracksuit not just for doing sport would be a trend earlier than anyone expect. This is a trend which is already seen in urban street. I got some jogging pants from H&M bought some months ago but I hadn't seen that in fashion shows yet... until know. You will see in all these pictures how designers introduce pieces of tracksuits in their collection.

Sparkle colours like yellow or pink, gold, oversize layers... are other trends showed up for the next season Spring/Summer 2012. Moreover, transparencies have had an important role in these Fashion Weeks. Yet, we had already seen transparencies as a trend in A/W 2011 -2012, so now I would not consider as a big deal ( despite the fact I love transparencies!!)

I have to say as well that I was really upset about Dsquared2. Dsquared has always had an excessively ornate style but this time has been almost ridiculous. It seems like they wanted to show a proper style of urban street but they just get an style that seems from a posh girl who "wants to be cool" wearing a lot of accesories... so tacky. Here a pic from that show:

Jo Calderone

At this point, everybody must know who's that important figure. Plainly our outrageous but lovely Lady GaGa. I thought that image of a man would be just for her last video Yoü and I. Yet, I was shocked yesterday night (watching MTV Video Music Awards) when she showed up with that look. Everyone was excited about what Lady GaGa would wear, and she didn't let us down. Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry tried to be the central focus of the show but GaGa, again, was wearing the startling look ever.

Jo Calderone is not only an image but Lady Gaga's BF. He's supposedly a mechanic born in New Jersey who met Gaga while she was doing Nick Knight shoot. Well done GaGa, well done.

Btw, I think I've never seen before Lady Gaga without heels in a show.

Monday, Tuesday is my weekend

Emerged from the New York City, that is a band i've just fallen in love with. I really love indie rock music and these guys just stole my heart becoming then, in one of my fav bands. Otherwise, I really love their american style wearing leather jackets, skinny jeans, converse, cool tshirts, crazy hairs... That reminds me kinda grunge style but w/ the psychedelic style of 70's. They are The Strokes.

Despite their amazing music, I've got to say that my fav band is (after The Beatles, of course) The Kooks. I personaly think that when you become an artist, in that case, a musician, it's not just all about your music. What you want to carry out is almost always so important as the image you are going to show up because as the saying goes "A picture is worth a thousand words". So, maybe, you and your music are going to say whatever you want to transmit, but sometimes it's your image what is going to indetify physically the appeal you are making.

In my opinion, music is something I couldn't live with. I think people do not realize that the more different music you listen, the more personality you have. Music even shows sometimes our personality, but well, that's another topic.

To sum up, fashion comes around everywhere. And music is a topic where I can find out so many trends. Especially in indie rock bands, I find something really cool in all of them. I'm inspired by a lot of stuff but music is maybe one of the most persuasive things to me to create my own style.
